Frequently asked questions

Are animations admissible?

Generally, yes. In California, absolutely.

In 2012, during appeal of People vs. Duenas, the California Supreme Court established that computer animations can be introduced as demonstrative evidence, provided that the animations accurately reflect expert testimony.

DEMONSTRATIVE EVIDENCE

To ensure admissibility, an animation should not be described as simulation or re-creation but should adhere to the directives in People vs Duenas – CACI 5020.

Are animations cost effective?

Yes. Animations reduce the risk of needing to go to trial by creating a hurdle that is difficult for opposing counsel to overcome. Our experience shows animations shorten the litigation process and expense by incentivizing the opposition to settle.

When shown at trial, our animations have led to quicker verdicts and larger damages awards.

Is animation affordable?

Yes. Animations can be scaled to meet the needs of your case.

Two-dimensional, top down or illustrative animations can be developed for around $5,000.

High-end 3D animations can start from $8,000 to $10,000.

Can we use our own slide deck?

Yes! Send us your slide deck for a full professional design. We’ll ensure that it’s clear, consistent and visually compelling.

Can my legal team keep editing the slide deck?

Yes. The slide decks will remain accessible to you and your team.

You’ll be able to continue making edits right up to and during trial.

What’s the average cost of a slide deck?

A trial-ready slide deck starts at around $2,500.

This typically includes title page, case roadmap, document extracts (“highlights and blows”), medical imaging with text popups, and insertion of video and audio files.

Can we build animation and multimedia into the slide deck?

Yes. We typically add video, animations and interactive content such as clickable maps, drone footage or timelines to slide decks.

What does the process look like?

It starts with a conversation.
