Premises Liability – Boy Run Over by Truck

Alameda County, CA, February 2020. While playing with his friends, a young boy inadvertently runs into the path of a large pickup truck exiting the property. Multiple leg fractures and PSTD resulted. This was caused by an unsafe condition on the apartment complex that the owner had refused to remedy, even though several inexpensive solutions would have made the site safe.

Truck Crash – Multi-vehicle Pileup

Manteca, CA, May 2015. With traffic stopped ahead of him, and a CMS sign warning drivers to slow down, a semi driver crashed his truck at full speed into the cars in front. The driver of the car directly ahead was killed. The next three suffered life-threatening injuries, including skull fractures, traumatic brain injury and spinal damage.

Car v Motorcycle – Failure to Yield

Oakland, CA, October 2015. In a left turn lane, a young driver doesn’t pay attention to oncoming traffic while attempting to cut across two lanes of traffic and turn right. The motorcyclist victim suffered head trauma and multiple spinal injuries.

Freeway Crash – Rear Ended and Sandwiched

Alameda County, CA, December 2016. Waiting in stopped traffic, a victim was hit from behind at 50 MPH by a large pickup hauling a mobile home. The pickup driver was distracted and not looking at the road in front. The victim suffered traumatic brain injury, multiple spinal injuries and organ damage.

An essential component of visual advocacy is timelines. Here’s an interactive timeline that allows counsel to scroll across a date range and click on events to reveal more detailed information. In this case, a victim of a rear end collision required 33 separate medical interventions during a two-year period after the crash. 

Truck v Pedestrian – Failure to Stop, or Look

Gonzales, CA, February 2020. A dismounted cyclist, wearing a visibility vest, was crossing at a 4-way stop intersection. A big rig driver, hauling a combined weight of 28,000 pounds, failed to stop, or even look, as he turned his truck directly into the victim. Traumatic Brain Injury resulting in coma, multiple skull fractures, spinal injuries, chest trauma and knee injuries were the direct result.

Motorcycle Crash – Catastrophic Left Turn

Calistoga, CA, June 2022. At a stop sign, a FedEx driver failed to see an oncoming motorcyclist following a pickup truck. Without confirming the roadway was clear, the driver turned left directly into the motorcycle. The crash caused broken bones, spinal injuries, and traumatic brain injuries.

Rear End Collision – Road Rage

Contra Costa County, CA, February 2017. While stopped at an intersection, a driver is heard having a loud argument on the phone. He stomps on the accelerator and rear ends the car in front. The victim suffers severe concussion and multiple skeletal injuries.

Motorcycle Crash – Turn Violation

San Francisco, CA, June 2020. A motorist makes a prohibited left turn directly in the path of an oncoming motorcyclist. The victim suffered life altering injuries including severe concussion, organ damage, hip, spinal and leg fractures.

Medical Illustration – Car v Pedestrian

We accompany every crash animation with medical illustration. In this case a young woman was run over by a taxi driving at 45 MPH.


Traumatic brain injuries, multiple spinal and skeletal fractures and a punctured lung resulted. 

Motorcycle Crash – Failure to Yield

Oakland, CA, September 2019. Impatience combined with inattentive driving resulted in severe traumatic brain and spinal injuries.


In a hurry to turn left before the traffic light turned red, a driver accelerated, instead of checking that the roadway was clear. 

Witness Map – Hit & Run

Nevada County, CA, August 2015. In personal injury cases, sometimes the injury event isn’t the whole story. In this example, the defendant fled the scene but was followed and observed by a witness before and after the collision. We animated the crash and illustrated the injuries. Importantly, we used a large area map to document egregious, dangerous driving over 8 miles!

Motorcycle Crash – Unsafe U-Turn

San Mateo County, HWY 1, CA, April 2020. With a hill obstructing forward visibility, a minivan driver U-Turns instead of seeking the nearest exit - causing life altering brain and spinal damage to a motorcyclist.

Pedestrian Injury – Blinded by the Light

Santa Rosa, CA, February 2020. Returning from a walk to the supermarket, a pedestrian was run over in the crosswalk. The driver was blinded by the setting sun and could not see in front. Instead of wailing or using the visor, she just drove straight ahead. Severe spinal, skeletal and traumatic brain injuries resulted.


The driver was uninsured. The victim had under insured motorist coverage, but her insurer tried blaming her and needed to be sued.

Motorcycle Collision – Unsafe Lane Merge

Roseville, CA, October 2021. A city worker, slowly driving a bucket truck, abruptly performs a lane merge without checking his mirror or blind spot. He crashes into a passing motorcyclist causing catastrophic spinal and traumatic brain injuries.

Truck Injury – Rear Ended by Big Rig

Contra Costa County, CA, August 2016. While waiting in traffic, the driver of an empty dump truck was hit from behind at speed by a 25-ton big rig hauling road working equipment. The impact caused the victims vehicle to crash into and destroy a crash barrier across the roadway. Severe spinal and traumatic brain injuries resulted. 

Premises Liability – Unsafe Garage Door

Contra Costa County, CA, May 2017. Despite repeated requests from tenants, a landlord failed to maintain and repair a faulty garage door opening system. When the mechanism failed, the bracket holding the full weight of the garage door detached and was flung directly into the victim’s head. Severe traumatic brain injuries resulted. 

Construction Site Injury – Falling Object

San Francisco, CA, January 2015. On a day when no construction work was scheduled and no hard hats were required, a plumbing contractor had just finished inspecting an installation. He did not know that heavy plywood was being passed from the roof to the second floor of the building site.


The board was dropped and fell directly on the victim’s head – resulting in severe traumatic brain injury.

Motorcycle Crash – Negligent Left Turn

Hayward, CA, September 2019. While delivering a donated car to a storage yard, a Kars4Kids contractor made a left turn directly in the path of an oncoming motorcyclist. The resulting crash caused devastating brain and spinal cord injuries.


We animate many motorcycle injuries and have a high level of expertise in their causes and consequences for victims.

T-Bone – Rammed by Police

Merced, CA, June 2017. Responding to a call, but not engaging his siren, a sheriff’s deputy sped through a red light crashing into a young couple making a lawful left turn. Traveling at over 40MPH, he caused permanent, devastating injuries to both victims, including severe traumatic brain injury.


Each plaintiff received a settlement of $3 million. 

Motorcycle injury – Truck blocks roadway

Modesto, CA, July 2020. A Salvation Army truck driver makes an unsafe left turn. When he sees an oncoming motorcyclist, he stops the truck, blocking the entire road span. Left with no room to maneuver, our victim clips the front of the truck and suffers a horrific crash.


Severe traumatic brain injuries, spinal fractures and broken bones resulted in coma, months of hospitalization, and multiple emergency surgeries.


Whenever surveillance or dash cam footage is available, we incorporate it into the animated video. This also applies to scene photography and vehicle damage. 

Internal injuries – Run over by a bus

Sacramento, CA, February 2016. Crossing at an intersection, a woman was run over by a bus and dragged 120 feet before screaming passengers could get the driver to stop. The victim’s injuries were so severe that she needed seven surgeries in 5 days. She lay in a coma for months.


After seeing the trial animations, defense settled for $12,000,000.00 at mediation. 

Motorcycle injury – Reckless lane change

Petaluma, CA, August 2019. On a busy freeway, a cargo van driver changed lanes without indicating or checking that the lane was clear. Our victim suffered catastrophic brain and multiple spinal injuries.


Every injury animation includes a ‘slow motion x-ray’ replay to show injury causation. A second animated video goes through each injury in detail on anatomical models, augmented with photos and medical imaging. 

Truck Injury – Unsafe Ramp

Fairfield, CA, August 2016. A badly engineered earthen ramp at a construction site failed, causing a cement truck to tip over. The driver suffered severe spinal and traumatic brain injuries. 

Motorcycle Collision – Sequence of Events

San Jose, CA, October 2019. A motorcycle mechanic was test driving a customer’s vehicle to ensure all repairs were satisfactory. A distracted Uber driver turned left directly in front of him. This crash resulted in multiple bone and spinal fractures as well as a Traumatic brain injury.


We end every crash video by overlaying scene footage or photographs on the computer graphic. This has a compelling effect on the Jury by emphasizing the accuracy of the animation. 

Multi-vehicle collision

On the Hayward\Martinez Bridge, California, August 2021, a Caltrans tow truck driver made an unsafe U-Turn in the middle of the bridge span. A multi-vehicle crash resulted with horrific injuries and a car fire.   

Construction Site Injury – Unsafe Handrail

In Oakland, California, October 2018, a construction worker suffered severe brain and spinal injuries due to a loosely attached handrail next to a very steep staircase.  

Motorcycle Collision – Sequence of Events

Butte County, CA, May 2018. A motorcyclist, waiting to safely make a left turn into his residential property, was hit from behind by an inattentive driver who failed to look at the road ahead.


The victim was left with crippling spinal, skeletal and brain injuries.  

Car v Pedestrian – Reversing Without Looking

 In Napa, California, April 2018, an auto mechanic reversed a car on his lot without looking in the direction he was driving.


He hit a pedestrian causing traumatic brain and spinal injuries. 

Motorcycle Crash – Illustration of injuries

In San Rafael, California, November 2015, a motorcyclist collided with a motorist performing an unsafe turn.


Catastrophic brain, spine and organ injuries resulted, with the victim remaining in a coma for 3 months after the crash.

Zantac Production Pipeline

As part of litigation involving Glaxo Smith Kline, this animation illustrates the steps in production and distribution of Zantac heart burn medication.


Key to the case was showing how Ranitidine, the active ingredient in Zantac before 2020, decays into carcinogenic NDMA with time, heat and humidity.

Big Rig vs Motorcycle

In Sacramento California, July 2020, an inattentive truck driver lost control of his vehicle, causing it to spin 180 degrees and into the lane of an oncoming motorcyclist – resulting in horrific brain and spinal injuries.
